Since our last post, we've left Thira (Santorini) and returned to Athens (also known as Athena if you follow the Greek spelling and pronunciation).
This city has got quite a mix of the new and the old. It's both gritty (full of graffiti and even prostitutes) yet historical (you can't count how many historical ruins there are). We've spent the better part of 2 days touring sights like the Acropolis (of course), a couple of museums, other smaller historical sights (like the Agora, the Temple of Olympia Zeus, etc.), and strolled around some happening touristy spots like Plaka, Monastiraki, Psyrri, etc.
Tomorrow, it's time to hit the road again and begin our road trip north towards Macedonia hitting places like Delphi, Meteora, Mt Olympus, and eventually Edessa (the first waterfall excursion of the trip) before ending at Thessaloniki.
Personally, I'm already itching to see a waterfall on this trip, but it'll have to wait for a couple more days...
