Tallest Waterfalls Revisited

After the latest research and field observations from recent trips, we've revamped both of our tallest waterfalls pages

A key change we've made is that we've added an additional restriction that we will now only consider waterfalls that flow reliably and with appreciable volume for an average of six months out of the year every year.  This should at least eliminate some of the smaller and ephemeral waterfalls that tend to convolute and distort lists such as this.

After all, if you were looking for waterfalls on your next trip, would you want to be wasting your time and money chasing a dinky trickle?

That's why we're constantly trying to revisit and re-evaluate what we have since we're trying to convey as much as we are certain about instead of frivolously copying from the literature.

Consequently, this has pushed out some waterfalls that have previously sat on one or both of our lists while bringing back others.  In one case, we introduced a new one based on our recent trip in France.

France Updates Complete

The last remaining pages that were yet to be created since the announcement of the France region on the World of Waterfalls website a few days ago have now been published.  Included in the updates are a vastly embellished "Other Attractions" page featuring the various non-waterfall attractions we saw in France as well as the addition of the pages of the Herisson Waterfalls, Cascade de Flumen, and Saut du Doubs.  Since Saut du Doubs also happened to be a transnational waterfall, it also was included in the regional page for Switzerland.

France Waterfalls Posted

We've finally updated the website to include a new section devoted to waterfalls in France resulting from our recent three week trip there.  So far, 17 of the 20 waterfalls have pages published.  The last three (Saut du Doubs, Herisson Waterfalls, and Cascade de Flumen) will be complete this week, so please excuse their broken links.

Later this week, we will also update the Other Attractions page for Europe as France has more than its share of non-waterfall attractions...

Check out what we've got so far and let us know what you think!
